THE FULL STORY ABOUT
Katie Elizabeth Salon

Katie Sawicki
OWNER / HAIRSTYLIST
After leaving the fashion industry, Katie (22) began her hairstyling education at Niagara College, Canada. She immediately fell in love with the industry and took a strong liking to blonding and corrective colour. Early in Katie’s career she was given the opportunity to work as a colour educator for a leading colour company. This nurtured her love for education and helped her excel in the art of corrective theory and the chemistry behind colouring services.
Katie entered the industry when the trend technique of balayage and extreme blonding were just beginning to take off. This submerged her in the challenging culture quickly and helped her excel as a stylist very early on. Katie was ranked Canada’s Top Five New Hairstylist of the year, and she has not stopped reaching for higher goals since.
Katie has had the opportunity to be educated by the likes of Vidal Sassoon Academy, 901 Academy in West Hollywood California, and Chris Appleton. She has a perfectionist eye for detail and the knowledge to take your hair to beautiful, healthy, on trend blonde extremes.
She has been involved in the growth and rebranding of multiple hair salons, which triggered a love to create her own brand that she can call home. Katie Elizabeth Salon opened its doors in Thorold ON March 2019. The idea behind the branding was to create a fresh, inclusive salon environment, with a California twist. She takes pride in making her clients feel welcome and bringing them the hair goals they see scrolling through social media. She never shies away from a corrective challenge, and prides herself with sourcing the highest quality products and services.
Katie offers Cool GRL Blonding Classes and educational sessions for growing hairstylists. She believes in the importance of giving back to the hair community and takes pride in helping other stylists grow their careers.
When Katie isn’t talking shop, you’ll find her planning for a branding expansion, creating new merchandise for the Cool GRL Brand, or spending time with loved ones & her son Campbell. Her entrepreneurial spirit is driven to create something new that Niagara has not seen before, and she cannot wait to share these future plans with her clientele and community.
This is the beginning of the KES story.
Kimberly Conner
HAIRSTYLIST
Kim's hairstyling career started back in 2010 when she attended Niagara College and began her two year apprenticeship. During this time she discovered her passion for short-precision haircuts, which lead her to taking courses at Sasson Academy in Toronto. Shortly after, Kim moved to Toronto to work and learn from global artists. This move provided her with a valuable education from Toni & Guy Academy, which allowed her to grow as a colourist and specialize in blondes. Kim later won the Toni & Guy Colourist of the year for 2017 and 2018. Craving a bit more of a slower pace, she moved back to Niagara in 2019 and joined Katie Elizabeth Salon, where she now specializea in short-precision styles, lived-in colour, and blondes.
When Kim is not doing a million babylights to create that perfect blend in a balayage, or cutting a chin-length box bob, you will find her traveling the world. From the buzzing streets of Barcelona, the black sand beaches of Costa Rica, the crisp mountain air in Banff, to eating pizza in Chicago, and having a glass of wine in Napa, Kim is always planning her next adventure. When Kim isn't plane-hopping, she's signing-up for local races and running half-marathons. Kim's ideal retirement would be to become a pace bunny and have the privilege to help others achieve their pace goal, encourage them, and just have fun. Until then, you will find her tinting roots, creating colour melts, and helping clients achieve their hair goals at Katie Elizabeth Salon.

Sadie Campbell
HAIRSTYLIST
Sadie began her career within the hair industry in 2011 assisting some of the finest in the biz at Studio 136 on Locke Street in Hamilton. After a year of assisting, Sadie enrolled as an apprentice and began her hairstyling education at Niagara College Canada alongside Katie. Ever so passionate about evolving her skill set and techniques, you can find her not only observing co workers for inspiration, but searching for classes to expand her knowledge. Already accomplishing classes at the Wella Academy refining on colour and cutting. As well as being a Cool Girl Blonding “graduate” certified by Katie herself.
In 2019, Sadie left the salon world briefly when the pandemic hit to work in the airline industry (incorporating hair on the side). Once the world slowly started inching its way back towards some normalcy, she didn’t hesitate at jumping right back into what she is most passionate about. Joining Katie Elizabeth Salon in November 2021.
Sadie’s strength has always revolved within the colour realm; specializing in blondes and rich, pigmented, dimensional colours - consistently exploring the newest trends and elevating those techniques. Currently fascinated in subtle lived in balayage and extensions. She is a meticulous perfectionist committed to bringing out her clients unique style, helping them feel confident in the best version of themselves prior to vacating her chair. Creating a laidback yet effervescent experience with every appointment.
When Sadie isn’t commuting from Hamilton you can find her climbing the escarpment stairs, visiting every garden centre expanding her already enormous plant collection, researching a destination for her next adventure or drinking a glass of J Lohr while online shopping for another pair of shoes she doesn’t need.

Cool Grl Hairclub was founded in March 2019 as a branding and lifestyle movement. The meaning behind the brand translates into expressing one's true authentic self, in a light-hearted, inclusive environment.
At KES, we pride ourselves in celebrating our own true style, and supporting and uplifting those around us. Community involvement and the shop local movement are core values of this brand.
We offer two styles of education to support our fellow hairstylists in the industry. Both courses are private, one on one sessions.
